从相遇到回首到约会到正式确定关系到坠入爱河，这是我和Arc浏览器的故事。

首先不得不提到一个稍微遗憾的恋爱限制，Arc浏览器目前只支持macOS 12.1+的系统，Windows版本还在制作中，喜欢的Windows宝子们可以静候佳音。

「坠入爱河」的原因：

不错的标签过载解决方案：我经常看到同事从几十个看不到标题的标签页里根据图标和直觉切换到要找的那个标签页，我觉得他们是有超强的辨别能力和试错耐心的，我无法做到。
较低的迁移成本：她会在第一次启动时引导我一键迁移其他浏览器的收藏夹和Chrome插件，她同样基于Chromium内核。
极客的快捷键操作：有丰富的快捷键功能，并可以通过输入文本的方式让她做任何事情，相当于把聚焦搜索、Alfred之类工具的「指挥官」设计模式放到了浏览器里。
设计风格柔和舒适：圆角设计搭配弥散渐变的颜色，还支持自定义她的模样。

我的「恋爱观」：

核心功能简单易用、有整体感：对于空间管理、快捷键扩展这些核心功能，我更喜欢原生统一设计的简洁感、整体感，而不是自己去对比、堆积，各式各样、良莠不齐的插件。
主动收集/发现痛点并实现更好的解决方案：我认为一些用户（包括我）在遇到痛点时并没在意，久而久之就习惯了目前的笨方法，而没有意识到其实有更优解。
使用体验丝滑：操作流畅（我的电脑是MacBook Pro M1, 2020, 16G），快捷键能力强大。
设计风格协调、不老土。

有用户批评其过于关注极客用户的诉求。

没过多久，我的工作内容越来越丰富，我发现我的标签页也越来越多、越来越乱，我开始寻找解决方案。

首先，简单介绍下我的浏览器工作流，主要分三类内容：

1）纯Group

1. Pure Group

我先是使用了Chrome浏览器里的Group能力（右键标签页 > Add Tab to Group），三类内容对应三个Group，这是刚开始标签页还少的时候：

但等标签页多了之后，查看和维护就都不那么方便了：

毕竟一个窗口的空间有限，好在我一般会用两个屏幕，所以我会开两个窗口，一个窗口放Check Group和Other Group，另一个窗口放Doing Group，另外可以通过工具栏 > Window > Name Window...给每个Window命名，切换窗口时可以方便辨别。

3）纯多Window

慢慢地，我发现Group能力其实不是特别方便，因为我每次新建的标签页还要手动拖动到对应的Group里；另外一个Group里至少要有一个标签页，否则Group会消失，这样我还得用一个标签页占位。

Slowly, I discovered that the Group's ability was not particularly convenient because I had to drag manually to the corresponding Group each time I built a new tab; another Group had to have at least one of the tabs, otherwise the Group would disappear, so I would have to use one of the tabs to take my place.

所以不久我就丢弃了Group能力，换成开三个窗口的方式，分别对应三类内容。

So soon, I abandoned the Group's ability to open three windows, corresponding to three different types of content.

再后来我也优化成两个窗口过，用浏览器的Pin能力置顶我的Check内容，至此，Check和Other内容可以合并到一个窗口里。

And then I optimized it into two windows, using the ability of the browser's Pin to top my Cheeck content, so that Check and Other content could be merged into one window.

4）Workano插件

4) Workano Plugin

纯Window的方式带来的问题就是：窗口和屏幕有绑定关系，这其实是不太灵活的。比如有时候想把Other的内容放在大屏幕看，有时候又只想放在小屏幕做个对比参考，而此时我必须拖动窗口到对应的屏幕上去；还有我想看Check内容的时候，也必须去到对应的窗口里。

The problem with the purely Windows approach is that the window is tied to the screen, which is actually not very flexible

当看到了Workano插件时，我觉得它仿佛就是为我设计的，它清晰地展示了我想要的多空间概念，我可以添加工作和生活两个独立的大空间，再细分成几个小空间，选中某个小空间的时候，当前窗口的标签页就只会包含当前空间的，而不包含其他空间的。

When I saw the Workano plugin, I felt that it was designed for me, that it clearly showed what I wanted to do with the multi-space concept of , that I could add two large, independent spaces for work and life, divided into a few smaller spaces and selected a small one, and that the current window's tab page would contain only the current space, not the other space.

这样每类内容就是独立区分开的，并且窗口和屏幕也没有绑定关系，我想快速切换到某类内容时，不需要去到具体的屏幕，只需要在任意窗口来到这个标签页（快捷键是command + 1），选择那个小空间即可。此外，这些空间里的标签们还支持多设备间同步。

So that each type of content is separate and the window is not tied to the screen. I want to switch quickly to a particular type of content without going to the specific screen. I just need to come to this tab in any window (command+1) and choose the little space. In addition, the labels in these spaces also support synchronization between multiple devices.

但使用久了我偶尔会碰到一些影响体验的情况，比如它的登录态偶尔会失效，导致我打开的标签页实际上都没有存到对应空间里，直到我发现的时候才发现，造成了一些混乱；有时电脑重启后再打开浏览器，空间加载得也比较慢。

But sometimes I have experienced a number of effects, such as the occasional failure of its login patterns, which led to the fact that the tabs that I opened were not actually stored in the corresponding space until I discovered it, causing some confusion; sometimes, when the computer restarted, it opened the browser and the space was loaded slowly.

究其本质原因，我觉得还是因为它只是一个插件，缺乏原生的丝滑感和整体性。

In essence, I think it's because

如果不是和Arc她的一次偶遇，我可能至今还在使用Workano插件，然而没有如果，我决定和她见一面。

If it wasn't for an accident with Arc, I might still be using the Workano plugin, but without it, I decided to meet with her.

我的想法是，先和她交流Check & Other的内容，如果聊得不错，就可以抛弃Chrome浏览器了[Doge]。

My idea is to talk to her about Chuck & Other first, and if you talk well, you can dump the Chrame browser [Doge].

首次启动画面确实很有沉浸感，这就不多说了。

The first time the scene was really immersed, that's all.

然后她很大度，支持导入前任浏览器的收藏页面、插件、浏览历史、密码等几乎所有信息。

She then has a great deal of support for importing almost all of the collection pages, plugins, browsing history, passwords, etc. of her predecessor's browser.

回想一下当时的约会，对我来说，有几个点印象很深刻：

1）快捷键切换标签页时会展示缩略图

快捷键：control + Tab 是正向，control + `（Tab键上方的反引号）是反向。

展示缩略图很有系统级功能的范儿（macOS系统切换窗口应用：[AltTab](AltTab - Windows alt-tab on macOS)）。

另外，因为她展示的是最近使用的标签页，不像Chrome只是顺序遍历，所以只使用control + Tab一种快捷键就能反复切换固定的两个标签页。

In addition, as she displays the recently used tabs, unlike Chrome, which are in sequence, two tabs can be changed repeatedly using only a control + Tab shortcut.

2）新建标签页功能远比想象中强大

新建标签页时弹出的是一个位于窗口中心地址栏，而这个地址栏更像是一个控制台，不仅可以输入网址、搜索关键字，还支持我们发送各种指令，相当于把聚焦搜索、Alfred之类工具的「指挥官」设计模式放到了浏览器里。

A new tab pops out of a central window address bar, which is more like a control bar that can not only enter web sites, search keywords, but also support us in sending instructions, which is equivalent to putting the "commander" design model of a focus search, Alfred-like tool in a browser.

可以看出她对自己的定位已经不是我们平时眼中的浏览器了，更像是一个小系统。

As you can see, she's no longer a browser in our eyes, more like a small system .

针对平台搜索内容：输入平台名，再按Tab键

比如搜索Youtube视频，输入youtube，再按Tab键，输入视频关键字，回车。

For example, search YouTube videos, enter yooutube, press Tab, enter video keywords, return to the car.

展示常用操作：按Tab键

比如清理缓存、添加切分视图、查看历史记录、以Markdown格式拷贝网址（这个功能直戳我心，后面会再提到）等等，在操作的右边一般会展示其快捷键。

For example, clearing the cache, adding a cut view, viewing historical records, copying the site in Markdown format (a function that hits my heart directly and is mentioned later) and so on, the shortcuts are usually displayed on the right side of the operation.

这个功能我一般是在忘了某个快捷键或者猜测她有某个能力但是不确定的时候，就过来输入操作的关键词验证一下。

I usually come here to check the key word for the operation when I forget a shortcut or guess she's capable but not sure.

当然，也可以直接输入想进行的操作，而不按Tab键，这里只是为了更好地筛选。

Of course, you can also enter the intended operation directly instead of the Tab button, which is just for better screening.

跳转到已经打开的标签页

如果输入的网址是已经打开过的，默认就不会新建标签页了，还想新建的话可以按住command再回车。

If the site entered is already open, the default is that no new tab will be created, and if you want to do so, you can hold the command back.

3）一些网站支持快速预览

3) Some websites support quick previews

这个体验也挺细节的，有时候查看邮件或者日历，可能并不想打开网页，只是想扫一眼，先看看有没有比较重要的信息，再决定打开。

It's a very detailed experience, sometimes looking at emails or calendars, perhaps not trying to open a web page, just looking for more important information before deciding to open it.

目前支持预览的网站可以在设置（快捷键：command + , ）里查看，也可以选择关闭部分预览。

Websites currently supporting previews can be viewed in settings (facilator keys: command+,) or they can be selected to close the previews.

与她交流差不多两周，这段时间里我们相处得都很自在，没有大的矛盾，于是我决定……与她正式确定关系，也就是把Doing的内容全部迁移过来。

After almost two weeks of communication with her, we were comfortable, without major contradictions, and I decided... to formalize the relationship with her, that is, to move all the contents of Doing.

PS：对于迁移打开的非收藏的标签页们，我是使用Workona插件的一次性复制多个网址功能，搭配Open Multiple URLs插件的一次性打开多个网址能力，来实现快速迁移的。我可不想一个一个复制粘贴网址。

这回，我好好感受了一下她的标签管理设计。

This time, I felt her label management design .

首先，和Workano插件类似，她也有大空间Profile和小空间Space的概念，这于我是有种亲切感的：

然后，要特别说说她的小空间设计，她天生地模糊了Chrome浏览器里「标签页」和「收藏夹页面」的边界。在她心里，所有的页面都是标签页，只不过收藏页面有打开和没打开两种状态而已。

And, in particular, her little space design, she was born to blur the boundaries between the tab and the collector's page on the Chrome browser. In her mind, all the pages were label pages, except that the collection pages were open and not in either state.

另外，她按照自己的个性，把小空间划分为了喜爱区、置顶区和今日区三个部分。

相当于我把以前Check内容里更常用的升级到了喜爱区，然后把Other内容里更临时性的降级到了今日区，至此，每个标签都有了更明确的定位。

但看起来越来越复杂了，确实，有利则有弊。不过别急，她还有很多提升体验的细节。

1）「收藏夹的内容经常越堆越多，在一个文件夹里找标签很难」，其实她的文件夹也支持快速预览，鼠标悬停在文件夹上，直接搜索关键字即可筛选标签。

3）「一直不关标签，标签还是会过多」，其实她的今日区会定时清理掉所有网页，清理频率可以设置（默认 12 hours），也可以手动一键清理。清理掉的页面都可以在Archived Tab里找到，不知道它在哪里，可以试试新建标签页，输入「view archive」。

她们的共同特点就是不会产生标签页，只是创建了一个临时窗口，而且在里面打开的所有链接都只会覆盖当前的页面，也不会产生标签页。这变向地减少了标签页的产生，很适合那些本来就只是为了看一眼的页面。

Their common feature is that they don't produce tabs, that they create a temporary window, and that all the links open in it only cover the current page and do not produce tabs. This reduces the number of tab pages, which are suitable for pages that are meant to be just a glance.

5）此外，也别忘了约会期间提到的「快捷键切换标签页」和「新建标签页直输命令」功能，它俩的存在都能很好地防止我们迷失在标签的海洋里。

不过，我还想说一下我对标签管理的看法，其实真的要管理好标签，需要的更多的是分类能力和定期清理习惯，否则再好的她也不能根除标签过载这个问题。

1）视频小窗口悬浮

在遇到她之前，我一直认为，开谷歌会议、看Youtube视频必须占用一个窗口。

Before I met her, I always thought that a window would have to be occupied to open a Google Conference and watch YouTube videos.

是她告诉了我，还有其他选择：小窗口悬浮，播放任意视频再切换到其他标签页时，就会自动触发，这个小窗口不仅可以跨标签页，还可以跨应用。

It was she who told me that there were other options: the small window was suspended and automatically triggered when any video was switched to other tabs, and the window was able to cross not only the tabs, but also the applications.

2）以Markdown格式拷贝网址

我迫不及待地想分享这个直戳我心的功能。

当要分享某个网址给别人，以前的我是command + L定位光标到地址栏，command + C复制网址，然后粘贴链接，再加一个网址描述（我的习惯，方便别人理解，也方便以后追溯）。

When you want to share a site for others, I used to be a command + L cursor to address bar, command + C to copy the site, and then paste the link and add a description of the site (my habit, easy for others to understand, and easy to trace later).

现在的我只需要触发「以Markdown格式拷贝网址」功能（通过新建标签页+输入命令，或者直接快捷键），然后粘贴即可，因为里面已经包含了网页的标题和网址。

All I need to do now is trigger the " Copy Web site in Markdown format" function (by creating a new tab + input command, or direct shortcut) and then paste it, because it already contains web titles and addresses.

3）Split视图

这个Split视图功能就类似系统桌面的切分，她仿佛在暗示「不想当系统的浏览器不是好浏览器」。

This Split view function is similar to the cut of the system's desktop, as if she were implying that "don't want to be a system browser is not a good browser".

这里有2个细节很优秀：Split状态是保留在一个标签页里的，所以标签页之间互不影响Split；另外按住option点击其他标签页或者链接可以快速split。

There are two excellent details: the Split state is kept in one tab, so there is no effect on Split from one tab to the other, and clicking on other tabs or links is quick.

PS：她还有一个可以给任何网页轻松换肤（自己设计或者使用公开的）或者屏蔽元素（比如你不想看视频平台里的推荐视频栏）的Boost能力，我还没有深度体验，应该适合喜欢设计的同学，具体可以参考人人皆可前端：Arc 浏览器更新有感 - 少数派。
