The Chinese edition of the Joint Morning News reported on 16 December: data show that Singapore is the ninth largest target market for encrypted currency fraud, with four hacker attacks and loopholes since 2011, resulting in losses of up to $14.6 million (approximately NZ$ 1.69 million).

There have been 13 hacker attacks and incursions in the United States since 2011. There have been 11 cases in the United Kingdom, the largest of which was in November 2017, when a user valued at $155 million (ETH) was locked in due to contractual loopholes.

Bitcoin and Etheria are the two leading currencies in the currency circle, and the currency that has been stolen most frequently in frauds and leaks. Bitcoin has been stolen 94 times since 2011; it has been stolen 84 times; and the BSC has been stolen 79 times, ranking third. It is noteworthy that BSC was the currency that was stolen 50 times more frequently in 2022, up 21 times more than in the previous year.

The biggest loss of encryption scheme was Plus Token, which caused nearly $3 billion in bitcoin and Etheria to be stolen. The second was the Chodex Encrypted Currency Exchange, where, according to police reports, the CEO of the Exchange fled Turkey and rolled away $2 billion worth of encrypted currency.

In addition, criminals usually use security holes in decentralized financial platforms to steal encrypted money. There have been 167 attacks of this type since 2011, at a cost of nearly $4 million, and in 2022 alone, there have been 80 DeFi leak attacks.
